This is a project which aims to provide over 9,000 villagers with convenient access to clean drinking water through the installation of bio-sand water filters in their homes.
As an organisation which seeks to build a better world through shared ideas, skills and experiences, the SIF is committed to working with communities for sustainable development. Water for Life is the foundation’s response to the critical need for clean water sources in Cambodia. According to The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Cambodia has one of the highest infant mortality rates in Asia and a large number of these deaths can be attributed to water-borne diseases such as diahorrea, typhoid and hepatitis A.

Over the next three years, Water for Life will also look at improving the services at a rural health centre through staff training and provide basic literacy classes for female villagers on topics such as budgeting, health and family planning.
Water for Life is initiated and managed by the SIF, with generous sponsorship from Deutsche Bank and Ngee Ann Development Pte Ltd, and implemented in partnership with Middletown Rhode Island Rotary Club USA and the Angkor Hospital for Children.
* In conjunction, there will be a Water for Life Photo Exhibition at One Raffles Quay, South Tower Lobby: 6 – 10 Sept 2010 and Ngee Ann City, Basement 2, Fountain Area (fronting FOX): 13 -19 Sept 2010.
The exhibits will showcase the winning as well as the most popular photographs in the Water for Life Photo Contest as well as the top shortlisted entries.
