Episode 13 Synopsis
The stakes are raised in the last installment of Singapore Discovered!, as it features not one but three hosts in the same espisode.
Canadian Shirley Ngo joins Englishman Eddy Herbert and New Zealander Clifford Wong on another trek to discover Singapore's hidden treasures.
Taking them around the island is the The Cosmosine which is the first-of-its kind luxury party bus provider.
In the final Food Scoops, the trio traces Singapore’s roots by learning how to make a heritage cuisine – the humble mooncake. The hosts visit Da Zhong Guo (Big China in Mandarin) which is probably the oldest mooncake store in Singapore. It was set up in 1935 and has been in this same spot on Sago Street, Chinatown.
Next, the hosts head down to Quentin’s, also known as Eddie’s place, the only surviving Eurasian restaurant in Singapore. They will learn about the recipes which were passed down from mother and father to son. Clifford also interviews Quentin’s mom, Freda who taught her son everything about Eurasian cuisine.
After a sumptuous dinner, the trio arrives at Geylang Bazaar. For this season finale, Clifford will compete against Shirley and Eddy at an event that can be found only at this time of year in Singapore: the Geylang Ramadhan Bazaar. Watch how the hosts outwit, out-think and out-race one another.
Things get a little hairy as the three hosts visits the Singapore’s Zoological Gardens and meet senior curator and primate expert Sam Alagappasamy who had taken care of the late Ah Meng, Singapore’s most famous orangutan. The hosts also learn how to bathe elephants.
Finally, on Island Gems, the hosts seek out activities that are off the beaten track. In this season finale, the three presenters are bought to “Stand Up for Singapore”, an open mic comedy night. See how Clifford, Eddy and Shirley fare as they make their debut in stand-up comedy.

tand up comedy at Comedy Club Asia’s Open Mic Night was the hardest thing they have ever done. It was nerve wrecking for them even after they finished their turn!

4. What did YOU learn about Singapore that you didn't know before?
I learnt that there were open mic nights every month, with very impressive local acts, best of all, most of them are free!
