Elephant Parade, together with ABN AMRO Private Banking, launched the largest open-air art exhibition in Singapore with a grand total of 162 elephant statues on 11 November.
This is Elephant Parade’s first appearance in Asia - the first was held in Rotterdam in 2007.
The parade will feature a mélange of international headliners ranging from celebrities, high profile artists, local personalities and designers. Rupert Grint, Ricky Gervais, Leona Lewis, Solange Azagury-Patridge, Joss Stone, Paul Smith, Karim Rashid, Sabine Roemer, Ronald Ventura, Ben Cabrera, Jalaini Abu Hassan, Gaurav Kripalani, Dick Lee and Glen Goei, are some of those who have come forward to pledge their support for this worthy cause.
Professor Tommy Koh, Patron of Elephant Parade Singapore 2011, added, “Elephant Parade will be an inspiring experience, and will raise public awareness of the importance of conservation in general, and saving the Asian elephant from extinction in particular.”
Underpinning Elephant Parade Singapore will also be a host of activities organised by various partners including the Singapore Zoo, TANGS and VivoCity.
Do look out for elephants designed by SIF Singapore Internationle arts and culture recipients: Max Kong, Sun Yu-Li and Sherman Ong.
