Junior animators on parade
Singapore Kopitiam Team | 22 September 2009

They may not be in the same class as Nick Park (Wallace & Gromit) or Tomioka Satoshi (Usavich) but these junior animators from Singapore are really making a name for themselves with these highly artistic pieces of digital work.
| About N.E.mation! |
| N.E.mation! is a digital animation competition for youths. Students are given training in animation techniques to convert their stories into one-minute clips. |
| More information here |
Shown earlier this year at the N.E.mation! competition in Singapore, each video was meticulously shot and produced by groups of dedicated students from various schools around the country, each using their own animation technique. Equally compelling are the storylines as each video has its own story to tell.
To cut a long story short, the eventual winner of the competition was Team VA Club 01, comprising of students from Yishun Junior College.
Here, we again showcase 5 animated works from the 10 finalist teams. Their animations were inspired by this year’s competition them of “What Makes Us Singaporean?” For the other 5 videos, you catch them at the N.E.mation! 3 website.
P.S. If you hadn’t already heard, the fourth iteration of N.E.mation! is still on! Participants now go through the usual nerve-wrecking wait for judges to select and announce the top 10 finalists.
