Earth Hour, the annual ‘lights out’ event led by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), returns with a bang in Singapore on 26 March 2011.

Singapore Earth Hour returns on 26 March

Watch Singapore’s skyline disappear into the starry sky for an hour as lights go out.

5.30 – 8.30pm: Free Live Concert and Carnival (this event will be fuelled by Alpha Biodiesel recycled from IKEA Restaurants' waste cooking oil). This year, WWF, in partnership with the Singapore Kite Association, will be inviting you to make your own kite and personalise it with your message or wish for the Planet. Remember also to bring your picnic basket and your beewax candles. Sit back, relax and enjoy the performances and some educational fun at the carnival.

8.30 –9.30pm: As the lights go out, get your walking shoes on.This year, get ready to walk in the dark for the first ever Earth Hour Night Walk!  Costing just $15 to participate in the walk (Free for children 12 years old and below). Registration is done through WWF. If you choose not to take part in the walk, you can remain at the Promontory to watch the award winning documentary ‘The Age of Stupid’. Earth Hour and Beyond!

Join millions of people around the world and switch off your lights wherever you may be at 8.30pm (local time) on Saturday 26 March.
