Drink Up! A World Cup Beverage Special

If your throat needs a break after excessive cheering or you need a pick-me-up after mourning the fall of your favourite team, it’s time for Africa. Singapore Kopitiam has created 6 new cocktails based on the colours of the South African flag: red, blue, green, white, gold and black.

The Testers

60x60-loretta Loretta Perera: With her first clear memory of the world cup as recent as 1998 when she was just 10, Loretta has eagerly awaited every FIFA World Cup since. While she still shudders at the recollection of 2006’s England-Portugal Quarter Final, the (relatively) long-term supporter hopes, prays and imagines only good things for both her teams.
60x60-dave

Dave Gibbons: Born in England, Dave Gibbons is a consummate sports fan who has been in Singapore for nine years. The 35-year-old, who is an assistant producer by trade, has been supporting his local football team Wimbledon for the last 25 years! Although Dave hopes for an English triumph in this year’s World Cup, his ‘head’ backs Argentina,

60x60-jeannie

Jeannie Leow: A free-spirited individual, 21-year-old Jeannie has developed a tolerance to alcohol that would put most Irish dock workers to shame. So it's hardly a surprise that she's on this panel. This NUS undergrad also admits to being somewhat of a football neutral, although she is keen on getting her mits on a vuvuzela.

60x60-matt

Matthew Scott-Mackie: A true-blue Kiwi who has been living and working in Singapore for 12 years. With New Zealand making only their second appearance in the World Cup finals, the 36-year-old IT director is throwing his weight behind his country to do well in South Africa. But Matthew reckons this honour will go to one of the South American countries.
