Happening every Saturday from May to September, the music series is staged along the balmy shores of Siloso Beach.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting line-up of renowned live bands and artiste collaborations, each performing a different genre every month to cater to a range of musical palates. The relaxing beach ambience, alfresco F&B setting, and infectious music beats make for a great nightlife experience for those wanting a getaway from the city.

4 September – Denise Mininfield & Friends

Widely sought after, American-born Denise Mininfield performs to jazz, R&B and funk numbers with her deep soulful voice. Since young, she has performed with many professional musicians and studied music from reputable teachers.

Performing for Music by the Beach this month with special friends, you will be entertained with good songs from 70’s, 80’s and 90’s that are sure to keep you tapping your feet.

11 September – Gabriel Hernandez & Friends

Gabriel Hernandez Cadenas started learning the piano when he was seven years old at the "Luis Casas Romero" Music Conservatory in Camagüey, Cuba and completed his pianist education at the age of fifteen. In 1985, he received the Best Condecoration from the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC). He was also a jury member of The National Commission of Evaluation of the Music National Institute in Havana, Cuba.

Hernandez has also been involved in many international jazz festivals and concerts and has performed with many great musicians including Roy Hargrove, Tito Puente, The Fine Wine Trio and many others.

18 September – Kevin Ng & Skunk Jive

Kelvin “Smokey” Ng is widely recognized in the local scene as being excellent with the harmonica and he has a soulful voice as well. He likes to explore new ideas with his band, the Skunk Jive, to create fresh sounds. He has performed with a variety of musicians, from local acts like Ronin and Jeremy Monteiro to international acts like Phil Manning and the Holmes Brothers.

His performances with his band for Music by the Beach will be topped with brilliant interplay between him and guitarist as they try to outdo each other, harmonica versus guitar.

25 September – DJ J-Styles & Md Noor

Faizal Abd Samad, or DJ J-Styles, started deejaying in his room,practicing for parties, clubs and DJ battles. His biggest achievement was to win the Technics World DMC DJ Championship in Singapore and represent his country in the world finals in London in 2000.

Catch him as he shows off his skills as he scratches and mixes music his way and his style together with percussion maestro Mohd Noor and the multi-talented saxophonist, Leo Mendoza.
